- The J.O. Waldner rubber - named after and used by probably the best player in recent history - is a very modern rubber. Its extremely malleable top sheet allows great spin and variation while either of its choice of sponges - the regular and the SC - provide the necessary speed to make this one of the most popular rubber sheets at the top end of the World Elite. The "SC" version has a softer sponge. With the use of speed glue, on a soft springy blade, like the Avalox 550, it is Nirvana for the European style topspin game - springy, spinny and fast, yet very controllable because the ball sinks in so easily. Without speed glue it provides more control than the standard sponge and is not quite as fast.
